Boston transplant Robert “Bob” Rowe believes Fort Lauderdale is the perfect launch pad for his new luxury living vessel, the Luxuria.
On any given day, it’s hard to miss the slew of pricey yachts bobbing along the city’s waterways, many of them moored behind multimillion-dollar waterfront mansions.
Enter Luxuria, a hybrid blend of high-end home and floating vessel. It’s Rowe’s goal to up the ante on waterfront living by offering well-heeled consumers an alternative dwelling right on the water.
“It’s unique. It’s one of a kind,” he asserted during a tour of the vessel Thursday. “There’s really nothing like it on the East Coast.”
Rowe, CEO of Global Boatworks LLC of Pompano Beach, said Luxuria is certified by the U.S. Coast Guard as a navigable vessel. It has a steering console on its upper deck, anchoring system, life jackets and is equipped with two 300-horsepower outboard engines.
The two-story Luxuria features a Miami contemporary design with floor-to-ceiling hurricane impact windows with motorized shades, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a spacious living room with a LED fireplace and a modern kitchen with Caesar stone counter tops, Bosch appliances and wine refrigerator. Other features include a washing machine and dryer, upper-level office nook with computer hook-up and printer/scanner and two outdoor patios.
