Global Boatworks will build a series of luxury houseboats for charter, floatels in South Florida. These luxury vessels will be marketed to vacationers as a one-of-a-kind charter experience, moored in high-end marinas with 360-degree views of the ocean and the skyline of cities like West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami Beach, etc.
Global Boatworks’ “Luxuria” houseboats will be modern, luxury-filled designs based on a working model from the Company’s co-owner in Boston. The floating vessel, floatel has had great success as a vacation charter on the Boston Harbor, and these new vessels will take advantage of the year-round beautiful weather in South Florida to bring in a steady stream of charter income.
The Company intends to immediately build two Luxuria models and also field orders for custom houseboats. Each Luxuria will have a two-story townhouse design with top-of-the-line amenities and features. The richly appointed interior will be approximately 1,400 square feet with two bedrooms and two baths, sleeping 5-6 guests. Air conditioning, a master bedroom with Jacuzzi, and washer/dryer will be standard. The features will also include:
- Floor-to-ceiling glass
- Bosch appliances
- Granite countertops
- Motorized shades and blinds
- Pop-up big screen TV
- LED Fireplace
- Soaking tubs (Roman style)
- Luxury baths/showers
- Heated towel racks
- Oversized desks with automated covering
The Luxurias will also feature two outboard engines so that they can be relocated or moved in the event of severe weather conditions. The vessels will be built at the Lauderdale Marine Center, which is the largest yacht-repair facility in the United States. The two flagship Luxuria vessels will also serve as sales models for custom-built units. Global Boatworks anticipates that is will receive a steady flow of custom orders and intends to move into the sales aspect of the business as soon as practical. While the Luxuria charter units will provide nice cash flow, the margins are much greater on custom sales.
